Job Description:UE06 – £32,982 – £38,205School of Biological Sciences – Institute of Infection and Immunology ResearchFixed Term – 35 hours per weekOctober 2024 – September 2026The Opportunity:To support a wide range of research activities in the MacDonald laboratory in the field of Cellular Immunology and Immunoparasitology, performing and supporting specific research projects, and being responsible for general laboratory organisation.We are looking for a Research Technician to provide research assistance and technical support to the MacDonald research team. In addition, the post will be in charge of general lab organisation.This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week).Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Perform and assist with experiments, including flow cytometry of mouse tissues and cells
  • Parasite life cycle maintenance (in particular the helminth Schistosoma mansoni)
  • Mouse colony organisation and genotyping
  • General lab organisation, including orders, health and safety records and risk assessments
  • Contribute to the production of research reports and publications
