About usThe postholder will support a research project led by Prof Marcus Fruttiger and Prof Adnan Tufail addressing the blinding eye disease, dry age-related macular degeneration.This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate research technician to take part in cutting-edge biomedical research and to contribute to an ambitious research initiative within our prestigious research and teaching Institute, located at the heart of London. Joining our vibrant research community in the Faculty of Brain Sciences at University College London (UCL) and Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH) provides access to extensive resources and career development opportunities.About the roleSalary: UCL grade 5 (£31,163 – £34,784 per annum, including London Allowance)Duration: funding is available for 3 years, in the first instance until 31 Dec 2028Hybrid working %: onsite first >80%You will provide technical support for a dynamic team at the interface between academic and clinical research and will engage in a variety of tasks, from assisting with cell culture experiments, microscopy and other experimental procedures. We encourage proactive involvement, innovation, and the ability to work independently to meet our research goals.About youWith an BSc in a biological discipline, you are experienced in cell culture work, microscopy and histology. You bring a combination of organizational prowess, technical skills, and a collaborative spirit to our team.
