Job description

Job Purpose: To manage the day-to-day operations of the R&D laboratory, including reagent/consumable stock, microbial culturing, and Health & Safety. Additionally, contribute to ongoing R&D projects.Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain reagent/consumable stock levels.
  • Conduct routine microbial culturing.
  • Ensure the laboratory remains organised, clean, and safe.
  • Monitor and enforce Health & Safety procedures.
  • Actively participate in R&D projects, including conducting experiments.
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with laboratory experience.
  • Strong background in molecular biology and/or microbiology.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
  • Experience or familiarity with DNA amplification methods (e.g., PCR).
  • Ability to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
