Job description
Job Purpose: To manage the day-to-day operations of the R&D laboratory, including reagent/consumable stock, microbial culturing, and Health & Safety. Additionally, contribute to ongoing R&D projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain reagent/consumable stock levels.
- Conduct routine microbial culturing.
- Ensure the laboratory remains organised, clean, and safe.
- Monitor and enforce Health & Safety procedures.
- Actively participate in R&D projects, including conducting experiments.
- Contribute to team meetings and discussions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc/MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with laboratory experience.
- Strong background in molecular biology and/or microbiology.
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
- Experience or familiarity with DNA amplification methods (e.g., PCR).
- Ability to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
