Offer DescriptionDigital RAIN, an integrated urban drainage model (DRAIN).Collaborator on activities related to the project/agreement stated.Tasks to be performed:The main objective of the project “Digital RAIN, an integrated urban drainage model (DRAIN)” is the development of a dual 1D-2D urban drainage modelling tool, integrated in a GIS environment, which can be applied for the detailed calculation of urban storm flooding, and for the design and evaluation of storm drainage networks. The tool will be based on the open-source software SWMM for the 1D modelling of the minor drainage system, and Iber for the 2D modelling of the major drainage system, and will take into account the coupling of both drainage systems through the exchange of flows in both directions.The project will develop this tool, validate it with laboratory data, and apply it to several Spanish pilot sites where detailed data of the storm drainage network are available. The person hired will participate, in collaboration with the rest of the project partners, in:x Apply the tool to real cases at event level and in long term scenarios.x Writing reports.x Produce user manuals and learning tutorials.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Engineering » Civil engineering Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsAcademic record. Only subjects whose main content is hydraulics, hydrology or numerical modelling will be valued. Maximum 10 pointsFor each subject that meets the above conditions, a number of points equal to the number of credits of the subject (1 credit = 10 hours of class) multiplied by the grade (out of 10), divided by 100, will be awarded.Doctoral Degree 2 points for holding a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering Participation in R+D+i projects, as part of the research team, work team or as contracted personnel charged to the project. Maximum 1 point (1 point per year)Knowledge of the Iber model, accredited through the completion of courses, its use in academic work, its application in engineering or research projects. Maximum 1 point 0.1 point for each 10 hours of Iber model course credits 0.2 points for each subject taken in which the use of the Iber model can be accredited. 1 point per final degree or master’s thesis in which the use of the Iber model can be accredited. 1 point for each year of accredited use of the Iber model in engineering or research projects.

Publications in JCR-indexed journals on the following topics: river hydraulics and hydrology. Maximum 5 points 1.5 points per article in a JCR-indexed journal 0.5 points per article in other journals.Knowledge of English Maximum 1 points Level B2 accredited: 0.5 points Level C1 accredited: 1 pointPersonal interview for candidates who score more than 8 points in the above sections.
