Offer DescriptionGrant/funding reference: PID2021-125447OB-I00Job title: High-accurate numerical models for the development of a new generation of Offshore renewable energy farms (ATHENEA)Research line / Scientific-technical services: Structural Optimization.This research support technician contract is called with the aim of adequately achieving the objectives of the project “High-accurate numerical models for the development of a new generation of Offshore renewable energy farms (ATHENEA)” with reference PID2021-125447OB-I00.The person hired will collaborate in the performance of the following activities and tasks that fall under objective 4 of the above mentioned research project:a) Implementation of structural optimization models.b) Development and improvement of the computational capabilities of numerical simulation methodologies already proposed by the GMNI.c) Validation and analysis of the accuracy and robustness of the methodology by means of test cases. d) Application to problems of interest in civil engineering.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Engineering » Civil engineering Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsRequirements for candidates:– Hold an Engineering, Graduate or Bachelor’s degree.– Knowledge of computational mechanics– Knowledge of linear and nonlinear structural analysis.– Knowledge of programming languages for computational mechanics.– Knowledge of optimization of structures.Additional InformationEligibility criteriaEvaluation criteria:For the award of the contract, the academic record will be valued at 50%, where two aspects will be taken into account:1) the grade of the degree or bachelor’s degree and master’s degree,2) the grades of the subjects in the field of numerical methods and programming. The candidate’s experience in the tasks to be performed in the project will be valued at 40%, in particular his experience in the development of numerical methods and in programming. The remaining 10% will be assessed in a personal interview with the candidate.A. Academic record (maximum 50 points): A maximum of 30 points will be considered based on the average grade of the records of the required degrees. Preference will be given to candidates with degrees in the field of Civil Engineering (bachelor’s, master’s, or recognized equivalent master’s degrees). In the case of applications with other engineering degrees (or recognized equivalent master’s degrees) a weighting factor of 50% of the average grade of the transcript will be applied. Other degrees and master will be weighting factor of 10% of the average grade. The remaining 20 points will be assigned according to the grades of the subjects taken by the candidate in relation to the project tasks related to differential equations, numerical methods, mechanics of structures, computer programming and computational mechanics (2 points for each 6 ECTS). In the case of these subjects, the same weighting will be applied as for the average grade of the academic record depending on the degree taken.B. Experience related to the activities to be developed (maximum 40 points):B.1. – Experience in the development of numerical formulations in the field of structural mechanics (maximum 30 points). Each year of experience will be valued with a maximum of 10 points, as well as presentations in congresses, and/or articles in scientific journals (up to a maximum of 10 points depending on their relation with the activities and objectives of the project), and complementary training courses (2 points/10 hours of courses, up to a maximum of 10 points based on their relation to the activities and objectives of the project).B.2. Programming experience: programming experience in languages such as Fortran, Matlab or Python will be valued (maximum 10 points). Each year of experience will be valued with a maximum of 10 points.C.
