Offer DescriptionGrant/funding reference: 851179Job title: Supramolecular engineering of biologically inspired peptide nanostructures – SENSEResearch line / Scientific-technical services: Peptide materialsTasks to be performedThe tasks to be carried out by the beneficiary of this research contract will be the following: Synthesis of peptides, organic synthesis.Characterisation of the compounds prepared using NMR, HPLC-MS, UV-Vis spectroscopy, circular dichroism and fluorescence.Study of the formation of supramolecular complexes between peptide derivatives and molecular receptors using spectroscopic and microscopic techniques.Candidates are expected to have an interest in multidisciplinary work and motivation to learn.Where to apply WebsiteRequirementsResearch Field Chemistry Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsAcademic qualification: Degree in Chemistry, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, or similar.Additional InformationEligibility criteriaSelection and evaluation criteriaBlock 1 – Training:– Academic record (maximum 1 point). In the case of other degrees, the score will be weighted according to the number of credits of each degree as follows: (CT1*NT1 + CT2*NT2)/(CT1 + CT2); where CT: number of credits of the degree and NT is the qualification of the degree.– Accredited level of English (maximum 1 point). B1 = 0.5 points, B2= 0.75 points, C1 = 1 pointBlock 2 – Experience:– Experience in synthesis and characterisation of peptide conjugates (NMR and HPLC-MS) (maximum 2 points; 0.5 point/year).– Experience in the characterisation of supramolecular interactions between molecular receptors and biomolecules (NMR, ITC, etc.) (maximum 2 points; 0.5 points/year).– Experience in the use of spectroscopic and calorimetric characterisation techniques (UV-Vis, circular dichroism, fluorescence, etc.) (maximum 1 point; 0.25 point/year).– Experience in the use of microscopic techniques (TEM, SEM, AFM, etc.) (maximum 1 point; 0.25 point/year).Block 3 – Personal interview:– A personal interview will be held for those candidates who achieve a minimum score of 5 points in blocks 1 and 2 (maximum 2 points).Candidates who do not reach the minimum score of 5 points in blocks 1 and 2 will be excluded from the waiting list.The call may be declared deserted if the candidates do not reach a minimum score of 5 points in the selection criteria detailed in Blocks 1 and 2Selection processWHERE TO APPLY: UDC online services site.
