Offer DescriptionGrant/funding reference: JOINT RESEARCH CENTRE (CODE IN853C2022/01)Job title: The shipyard of the futureResearch line / Scientific-technical services: DIGITAL TWIN FOR PLANT AND PROCESS IN SHIPBUILDINGThis contract is announced within the framework of the Joint Research Centre project “The shipyard of the future” (hereinafter CEMI) in which the University of A Coruña and the company Navantia collaborate. The object of this contract is the collaboration in the research activities that will carried out within the CEMI project.TASKS TO BE DEVELOPED AND PURPOSE OF THE CONTRACTThe main tasks of the hired person are related to the following topics:1) Design and implementation of a numerical model to estimate the flooding evolution onboard, considering the affected spaces, the eventual watertight closures, and the available means for the incidence mitigation.2) Numerical and experimental analysis for yielding the flooding flow under different damage instances.3) Definition and development of the required sensing system to feed the digital tween with true operating data , as well as the algorithms to allow for the autonomous fit of the mathematical models.4) Automatic data analysis to develop the digital twin of the plan and the digital twin of the process.5) Development of machine learning models on data. Integration of the digital twins of plant and process and development of the connection with the real plant and process through OT / IT networks, IoT connectivity platforms, Data Collector, SCADA or HYPER-SCADA, PLCs and SQL databases.6) Participation in pilot projects of integration of plant and process twins, with the plant and real processes, plant tests, and validation of digital twins.CONTRACT DURATIONThe contract will be indefinite, in accordance with applicable law. Be noted that this call is framed on the CEMI project, scheduled to be completed by the end of September 2025.RequirementsResearch Field Computer science Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsDegree on Engineering, Sciences or equivalent.Specific RequirementsGENERAL REQUIREMENTS1.- At the time of hiring, the candidate cannot have an employment relationship with the UDC, nor he/she will have had it with Navantia in the six months prior to signing the contract.2.- All candidates must meet the following requirements on the deadline for submitting applications, and keep them during the term of the contract:a) Spanish nationality or any other nationality to which the norms of the Spanish State attribute equal rights for labour effects in the public Administration.b) The required Degree, and comply with the other requirements indicated in the call.c) Be aged minimum sixteen, and not exceed, if applicable, the maximum age for compulsory retirement.d) Possess the functional capacity necessary to carry out the corresponding functions or tasks described in this call.e) The applicant must not be separated from the service of any Public Administration or the constitutional or statutory bodies of the Autonomous Communities, nor be in a situation of absolute or special disqualification for employment or public office by court order, for access to body or scale of civil servant or to perform functions similar to those, in which said person had been separated or disqualified. In case of not being of Spanish nationality, the applicant shall be required not to be disqualified or in an equivalent situation, nor to have been subjected to a disciplinary or equivalent sanction that prevents, in his/her State, under the same terms, access to public employment.3.- The hiring of foreigners from non-EU countries, which will be formalized for the sole purpose of carrying out research or technical tasks, will require the presentation, at the time of signing the contract, of the residence permission and work authorization for the employee, or the accreditation of the concurrence of cause of exception of the said authorization, in accordance with the organic Law 4/2000, of 11 January, on rights and freedoms of the foreigners in Spain, and their social integration and regulatory dispositions of application.Additional InformationEligibility criteriaSELECTION CRITERIAA degree in naval engineering will be positively scored, as well as a degree in computer science, degree in data science and engineering, degree in engineering in industrial technologies, master’s degree in computer engineering, A master’s degree in naval engineering, or any other master’s degree in the fields of computing science and industrial engineering will be scored. Within the degree studied, subjects on damage stability, as well as machine learning, IoT, artificial vision, robotics, will be scored, as well as a final degree or master’s thesis on these areas. Likewise, previous experience and specific training (courses, seminars, etc.) on: Flooding and damage stability Python, JavaScript, .NET, Java, Matlab and C++ programming courses. Libraries related to machine learning and data analysis, such as Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras and Matlab IoT Robotics Simulation It is mandatory to support the merits with the presentation of documents or official statements. Any supporting document must be issued prior to the end of the call period. Only merits related to the profile of the position will be scored. A minimum of 30 points, according to the following scale, will be necessary for any candidate to be hired.o Academic degree. The average mark of the required degree will be scored up to 30 points (e.g. average mark of the graduate or master’s degree). Average mark: 10 or equivalent —- 30 points Average mark: 9 or equivalent —- 25 points Average mark: 8 or equivalent —- 20 points Average mark: 7 or equivalent —- 15 points Average mark: 6 or equivalent —- 10 point Average mark: 5 or equivalent —- 5 pointIf the Degree is on the field of naval engineering, the score will be taken fully, according to the average marks. If the degree is framed on mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or computer sciences the score will be taken as 75% of the attained value, according to the average mark. In any other field of knowledge, the score taken will be 5% of the average mark.o Additional specific training related to the specific profile of this call, up to 25 points. Master’s degrees and courses related to the call profile: 1 point per each 25 hours, up to 10 points. Final degree and/or master’s degree thesis related to the scope of the position, up to 10 points. English level C1, 5 points.o Specific experience (previous positions, R&D projects, etc.) related to the specific profile of the call: op to 20 points. Previous experience in joint research units supported by companies and research institutions: 1 point per month, up to a maximum of 5 points. Experience in previous positions related to the object of this call: 5 points per year, up to 10 points. Previous experience on R&D projects in the field of this call: 5 points per European project, 4 national and 3 regional (up to 10 points).o Personal interview: the suitability of the curriculum vitae to the job will be assessed. Up to 25 points will be granted.The candidates with the highest score in the previous items (only the first three candidates) will be interviewed. Failure to attend the interview will exclude the candidate.Candidates will be called for the interview at least 48 hours in advance.Based on compliance with the requirements and the assessment of merits, a prioritized order of the candidates will be established. The candidate with the highest score will be awarded.
