Research Fellow (Quantitative)
University College London
About usThe Institute for Global Prosperity (IGP) at UCL is a pioneering institute that was founded in October 2014 as part of the UCL Faculty of the Built Environment, The Bartlett. This year marks the 10th anniversary of IGP, which has provided groundbreaking research and significant contributions to global prosperity over the years. Professor Henrietta L. Moore is the Founder and Director of the Institute. The IGP’s aim is to create a prosperous, sustainable global future underpinned by the principles of fairness and justice, as well as a realistic long-term vision of humanity’s place in the world. The IGP intends to accomplish this by challenging assumptions, rewriting questions, developing new definitions and measures of prosperity, and bringing together multidisciplinary experts from across UCL and the global academic community. The Institute’s engagement with decision-makers, business, civil society, and communities is especially important in terms of incorporating non-academic expertise into knowledge development.IGP offers a bold transdisciplinary research agenda that includes collaborations on shared prosperity and inclusive innovation with partners in the UK, Lebanon, Tanzania, Greece, and other regions. This work includes longitudinal studies of household prosperity, as well as a rapidly expanding program based on IGP’s context-specific prosperity indicators. As we approach our tenth anniversary, we are thrilled about upcoming projects that will increase our influence and engagement in new and existing regions, as well as expand research themes.About the roleThe main purpose of the role is to develop and implement a comprehensive research program aimed at evaluating prosperity in various worldwide contexts, to contribute to ongoing studies such as the East London Longitudinal Study, and to conduct data analysis. The role entails contributing to outputs aimed at various audiences (public, policymakers, and academics), supporting and sometimes leading the writing of academic papers, pursuing personal development, establishing collaborations within the department, the UK, and internationally, and identifying and supporting grant submissions.
