Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New YearLocation: De Havilland Campus, HatfieldMain duties and responsibilitiesThe Research Fellow in the Digital Transformation of Third and Public Sector Organisationswill be working with Professor Jyoti Choudrie to undertake research based on primary and secondary data, using qualitative, quantitative and/or mixed methods in support of publication with key research staff in the Business School. The Research Fellow in the Digital Transformation of Third and Public Sector Organisations will work with third sector organisations (e.g. AGE UK and the YMCA) and public sector organisations such as, Hertfordshire County Council, or local Councils. The project will focus on the Digital Transformation that such organisations have undertaken (or not and why not) to support the health and wellbeing needs of different excluded groups in society. You will join a Team of researchers with the initial project work being supported by a Contestable Research Grant from the Business School to pump-prime work in this area.Skills and experience requiredYou must have a willingness to develop methodologies aligned to impactful research that aids an understanding of how research benefits society. An ability to use SPSS, STATA, MATHLAB and/or Nvivo is also welcome and the ability to programme using R or Python languages would be beneficial. You must be organised, conscientious, with skills in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and able to work both independently and within a research team. While a PhD in Social Science or Business and Management is required, a current interest in business, digital transformation research is also needed.Qualifications requiredAn undergraduate honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and A PhD (or equivalent qualification), or close to completion of PhD (no more than 3 months prior to viva) in a relevant subject area, (eg. in any area of Business and Management, Psychology, or Social Science) or equivalent experiencePlease view the job description and person specification for a full list of the duties and essential criteria.
