GOS ICH holds an Athena SWAN Charter Gold Award.About the role The UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (ICH) is inviting applications for a Research Fellow position in Bioinformatics with a specialisation in oncology, RNA, and DNA analyses at both the single-cell and bulk levels. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and collaborative research environment, contributing to pioneering cancer research projects.The successful candidate will play a key role in:

• Conducting advanced bioinformatics analyses to interpret high-throughput sequencing data, focusing on single-cell and bulk RNA and DNA datasets.
• Developing and applying innovative computational methods and algorithms to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets in oncology critical to tumour maintenance, evolution, and metastases.
• Collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams, including molecular biologists, oncologists, and computational scientists, to design and implement integrative data analysis pipelines.
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of bioinformatics tools and databases to support the research community.
• Presenting findings at national and international conferences and publishing results in high-impact scientific journals.
• Supervising and mentoring junior researchers and students in bioinformatics methodologies and best practices.

The salary offered in this role is £42,099 per annum and is funded until 15/12/2026 in the first instance.About you The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting advanced bioinformatics analyses to interpret high-throughput sequencing data, with a focus on single-cell and bulk RNA and DNA datasets.
