It has been ranked #1 in the world in QS Architecture and Built Environment World University Rankings by Subject 2024, and remains #1 in the UK for the tenth year running, in the QS World University Subject Rankings 2023.The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is comprised of four world-class Institutes the largest of which is the Energy Institute – a highly interdisciplinary research led institute focused on how we observe, analyse, model and interpret energy use and energy systems.About the role This Research Fellowship is a unique opportunity for an interdisciplinary social researcher with a strong interest developing and applying mixed-method approaches to the study of environmental behaviours within the newly formed ESRC Behavioural Research Leadership Hub (BR-UK).
BR-UK is a new consortium funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) that serves as a leadership hub within the wider ESRC programme to build national capability for behavioural research to address societal challenges. Led by University of Edinburgh and UCL, BRUK spans eight leading UK universities working collaboratively to create a focal point for behavioural science research across domains including Environment and Sustainability; Health and Wellbeing; Resilient Communities: and Organisations, Markets and the Economy Working. This post will take a leading role within the Environment and Sustainability Theme led by Prof. David Shipworth (UCL) and Prof. Nick Pidgeon (Cardiff).
The successful candidate will spend the first 12 months working on analysis of a new major multinational survey, the OECD Environmental and Individual Behaviour Change (EPIC) Survey. This quantitative analysis will help governments understand the extent to which findings can be transferred between environmental behavioural domains and national contexts. The work programme for the remainder of the grant will be determined by the team (with input from the Research Fellow) over the first 12 months.
