Job Description:Grade UE06: £33,882 to £39,105 per annumCMVM/The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies/Langhill FarmFull-time: 36 hours per weekOpen-ended: permanentThe Opportunity:The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is looking for an experienced farm animal technician based at the University of Edinburgh dairy herd at Langhill Farm. You will organise and assist student teaching classes at R(D)SVS farms, including Langhill Dairy Unit and Easter Bush sheep flock, as well as facilitate research work on R(D)SVS farms.This post is full-time (35 hours per week).Your skills and attributes for success:

• You will have extensive knowledge and experience of practical dairy farming and animal husbandry.
• You should have good IT skills, including the use of farm software.
• You will have good understanding and experience of large animal research and the Home Office Legislation under the Animal Scientific Procedures Act 1986.
• You should have experience of teaching veterinary or agricultural students.
• You must possess excellent communication skills as you will be expected to coordinate with researchers, veterinary teaching staff and students.
