If so, this role could be your next step!This is what you do as Research Engineer Unmanned Robotic SystemsYou will design, build and validate new solutions, resulting in new prototypes and applied solutions; Typical examples of applications are the use of drones and ground robots for autonomous tasks, including navigation in challenging environment, using dynamic simulations and reinforcement learning to improve these tasks or even do collaborative tasks or control of swarms.You will be working on the integration and implementation of these systems.This is where you will workAt we explore future developments, look beyond our borders and disciplines and drive innovation. As Research Engineer Unmanned Robotic Systems you will be a member of the Smart Mechatronics And RoboTics (SMART) Research Group. This team is part of the LED offers an inspiring and effective learning, work and research environment, focused on applied technologies and recent national and international developments.Saxion’s employment terms and conditionsWorking at Saxion means working on inspiring, future-oriented education and research. - The following salary scale: scale 10: min € 3.609 / max € 5.377 (cao-hbo) working on a full-time basis.
- 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end bonus.
- You will receive a temporary contract, with the possibility of extension.
- A generous leave policy. For example: if you work full-time and have opted for a 40-hour week you can take 428 hours of leave annually. This means you will have 53.5 holiday leave days, including statutory holiday days and public holidays.

- At least Master of Science in a relevant technical discipline, like robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied computer science or mechatronics.
- Broad knowledge of and experience with the building blocks of robotics: Sensing & perception, control &manipulation, cognition &AI in the context of unmanned or autonomous systems.
- You want to make it work and you want to know why it works.
- Enthusiastic team player, who involves other engineers, companies and students in the project and is driven to contribute to team results.
- Affinity with education and ability to motivate students.
