Contract type: Fixed term contractWork hours: 35.0 hours per weekThe roleThis short 7-month role is to complete a study on the effects of lipoproteins on endothelial secretion. Initial work has identified a secretory programme driven by elevated lipoprotein and you will work to complete the mapping of the intracellular trafficking pathways involved, building on the previous work.What will you be doing?You will study the trafficking of fibronectin and other proteins in endothelial cells in response to lipoprotein. Secretion will be measured by ELISA and the pathways mapped by cell imaging using confocal microscopy. You will be responsible for maintaining endothelial cells cultures and planning your day-to-day experimental work, for accurate data keeping and records, for analysis of your data and for preparation of text and figures for publication.You should apply ifYou have significant experience in working with endothelial cells and a track record of endothelial research. The technique base for the project is protein biochemistry and cell biology.
