Research Associate (m/f/d) at the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics 

at the Institute of Flight Systems
in the field of “Mission Automation for Manned-Unmanned Flight 

(pay according to pay group 13 TVöD) 

for the next possible date, initially limited to 3 years, full time or part time. This is a qualification position with the possibility of a doctorate. 

The Chair of Flight Mechanics and Flight Guidance of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering conducts research in the field of human-machine cooperation in aviation. One focus is cockpit automation, which supports humans in the execution of flight missions. Two PhD positions are available for this purpose. 

Your tasks: 

Conceptualize, develop, implement mission automation functions for a combat helicopter cockpit and a team of drones or swarms. 
Use of AI methods in the context of the realization of assistance functions 
Integration into a combat helicopter simulation environment under development 
Implementation of human-machine experiments in the simulator
