Are you a motivated researcher looking for a challenging opportunity in the electrification of aviation?About the roleWe are seeking an exceptional Research Associate to work on high-power density high efficiency power electronics converters for electric aircraft. As a central member of the team, your primary objective will be to deliver a high-power density cryogenic DCDC converter and cryogenic motor drive for hydrogen-powered electric aircraft.The successful candidates will be expected to assist in the delivery of the design, control and testing of high-power cryogenic power electronics converters including cryogenic compatible gate driver for electric aircraft.This position is offered on a full time basis, fixed term from 1st May 2025 to 31st October 2026.About youOur ideal candidate will have:

  • a PhD (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or relevant areas
  • prior expertise in design and testing of high-power power electronics converter and electric motor drive
  • knowledge of electromagnetic, PCB design, thermal, and mechanical design
  • the ability to communicate and work collaboratively with the academic and industrial partners
