Research Associate in Breast Cancer Metastasis

vacanciesineu.com

This is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral research associate to join the Micro Environmental Control of Metastasis group at The University of Manchester. You will use in vivo breast cancer models, omics-based approaches, and in vitro studies to unpick how the aged microenvironment impacts tumour cell dormancy and metastasis, with the aim of uncovering novel therapeutic approaches to limit breast cancer relapse.

The position will be in the Oglesby Cancer Research Building, a stimulating and collaborative research environment with state-of-the-art facilities. You will have a PhD in relevant research area, experience in cancer biology and be driven to understand the tumour cell-niche crosstalk mechanisms that underpin breast cancer metastasis.

You will also have excellent communication and organisational skills, a proven track record of delivering high-quality and impactful research, and be enthusiastic and motivated to work both independently and collaboratively to drive your research and lead projects within the group.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
