In close cooperation with various research groups in the field of chemistry, materials science and physics, you will sup-port battery related research using in-situ and ex-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron (SEM) / focused ion beam (FIB) microscopy.

As part of the Excellence Cluster POLiS ‘Energy Storage Beyond Lithium’ you will be focus on two main projects:

  • correlative characterization of corrosion processes in Aluminum electrodes
  • structure of hard carbons and their relation to sodium storage capabilities
