Job description:

The professorship for Digital Design and Fabrication (DDF) at the Institute of Design and Building Technology (IEB) of KIT explores computational design and digital fabrication processes which enable novel concepts for circular economy in construction. Innovative material and construction systems are prototypically developed on a 1:1 scale at the interface between research and teaching and tested in application-oriented demonstrator projects. All aspects of construction, including architectural design, component production, assembly, and reconfiguration as well as disassembly and recycling are considered in an integral digital process.

The role involves both teaching and research responsibilities. Your focus will be on teaching in architectural geometry and digital design, while also delving into innovative digital design and fabrication methods.

This research center is part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. With more than 42,000 employees and an annual budget of over € 5 billion, the Helmholtz Association is Germany’s largest scientific organisation.
