Overview:hVIVO are seeking a Research Assistant to join the Development Team at our site in London, E1. The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible for the support of internal and external studies and in the development and validation of new methodologies and reagents for subsequent utilisation.The Development team are responsible for the development and validation of molecular, virology and immunology assays in line with hVIVO corporate objectives and priorities.hVIVO is a dynamic and pioneering global player in the pharmaceutical early phase research sector, and has been recently developing a strong discovery (research and development) focus to investigate human disease to help find better treatments, faster. We are always interested to hear from similarly dynamic and pioneering individuals who share our vision to better understand the more precise nature of human disease and to really make a difference. Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific expertise and support in the delivery of development and validation of virological and immunological assays;
  • Responsible for the support in the delivery of internal and client contracted research projects;
  • Manage time effectively to meet competing demands, ensuring that work is prioritised and that outputs are delivered to defined deadlines;
  • Provide regular updates on progress to management;
  • Ensure all work, where appropriate, maintains compliance with Good Clinical Practice and Good Clinical Practice for Laboratories, all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company standards and guidance;
  • Assist in the maintenance of the laboratories and ensure all procedures are performed according to Health & Safety regulations;
  • Perform study administration tasks, for example lab book and label production, document scanning, filing or archiving.

Skills & Experiences:EssentialMSc in Biological ScienceSignificant working experience in the laboratoryAbility to advise and educate colleagues professionally and scientificallyExcellent scientific research competenciesExperience in applying theoretical and working knowledge of virology and immunology in daily workExperience in the conduct of a variety of immunological and virological techniquesDesirableAbility to plan and execute laboratory workGood working knowledge of GLP/GCP standardsMembership in relevant professional bodies
