About usThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Team at UCL School of Pharmacy. We are one of the most highly rated pharmacy schools in the UK. Comprising four research departments and approximately 250 staff, the UCL School of Pharmacy is currently rated 4th in the world by the QS Ranking (Pharmacy and Pharmacology 2024), as well as 2nd in the Shanghai Ranking (Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences 2023). Further information about UCL School of Pharmacy can be found on our website http://www.ucl.ac.uk/pharmacy/Therole holder will be part of the Finance team, comprised of two Research andFinance Officers, the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant and a PurchasingOfficer, supporting all UCL School of Pharmacy’s staff and students.About the roleThe Research and Finance Officer is a key role within the Division’s professional services department, with responsibility for delivering an efficient and effective research administration service and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day finance support. The post holder will have responsibility for supporting academics to cost and prepare applications for research funding; ensuring that the financial return for the Division is maximised; advising academics on internal and external funding opportunities and providing post-award management of grants.The post holder will also support the Division’s routine financial processes as well as our work on budgeting and forecasting. The post is available to start immediately and is open to external applicants and to internal applicants seeking a secondment opportunity.This is a secondment cover position, currently scheduled to end on 31 July 2025. This role is eligible for hybrid working, with an expectation of at least 40% on site.This appointment is subject to UCL Terms and Conditions of Service for Research and Professional Services Staff. You will have a good understanding and experience of research grant processes (both pre and post award) and the proven ability to support the preparation and delivery of successful research funding applications including using Work tribe.The ideal candidate will also be proficient in the use of Axiom and MyFinance.
