Our team includes Investment Management, Gobal Macro & Strategic Asset Allocation, Manager Research, Client Solutions and Implementation resources, supported by Fidelity’s significant operational infrastructure to deliver investment services to clients. These resources support investment decision-making across a range of portfolio construction disciplines, including tactical asset allocation, strategy selection and risk management.Portfolio Managers in S&MA draw on an extensive toolkit for delivering investment objectives, including a large and well-resourced research team (across Tactical Asset Allocation, Manager Research and Quantitative Research), as well as a dedicated Portfolio Analytics, Portfolio Construction and Risk team, and implementation specialists. The team also works with colleagues across Fidelity’s bottom-up investment teams across key asset classes, capturing research from this substantial global research platform.About your role

  • This is an exciting opportunity within a growing business within Fidelity, with considerable potential for the right candidate to help shape this business and contribute to its success.
  • The role sits within the research team of Fidelity International’s Solutions & Multi-Asset business. The successful candidate will be a member of a collaborative team delivering products and solutions to our clients in the private and public-private space, and will play a key part in identifying and allocating to private investment managers.
  • You will use your network to do so, and work closely with our portfolio managers, our Client Solutions team, and our strategic asset allocation experts on the optimal building blocks for our strategies, and you will have a direct impact on investment decisions.
  • You will also bring a keen eye for relative developments between and within different private market asset classes, monitor these continuously, and use your insights to continuously improve decision making.
  • Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct asset class research across private equity, private debt or real assets
  • Conduct co-Investments opportunities analysis across private equity, private debt or real assets
  • Identify and research private assets managers
  • Build and monitor private assets funds pipeline
  • Complete investment recommendations on individual funds and present to investment team
  • Identify and follow market trends and contribute to FIL’s thought leadership in this space
  • Support portfolio management team in the management of private and public-private portfolios
  • Work with client facing team on key opportunities

About youKey to this role, therefore, is a flexible, dynamic approach, high research integrity, and a focus on commercial application of research. You will also need:

  • 2-3 years of manager and co-investments research experience in the private assets space
  • Deep understanding of private equity, private debt and/or real assets
  • Extensive industry network
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Strong client focus and proven contribution to positive client outcomes
  • Team player with the proven ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Effective communicator at all levels
  • An inquisitive mind, combined with excellent attention to detail
  • Deadline oriented and highly organised, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Proactive approach and a ‘can-do’ attitude to take ownership and resolve issues
