Reliability Engineering Manager

Based at our Manchester site

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Reliability Engineering Manager to join our Site Engineering Team at Manchester. This role reports into the Site Engineering Manager, and ideally we looking to appoint someone who possesses strong technical and leadership skills, along with expertise in ensuring the long-term reliability and performance of our assets.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Responsible for delivering and implementing strategies to improve asset reliability.
  • Use data driven approach to evaluate asset performance and recommend improvements.
  • Identify, evaluate and mitigate risks related to asset reliability, MTBF and performance.
  • Produce regular Engineering metrics on reliability and asset performance.
  • Work closely with the site engineering team, Manufacturing managers and their teams and Operational excellence team to foster culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on asset failures / line downtime, working cross functionally to develop corrective actions and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop a broad knowledge of production technology, equipment, and processes to provide expert guidance and support in all maintenance activities.
  • Provide engineering support to the Manufacturing Asset Care program including plant criticality studies, FMEAs, critical spares recommendations, preparation and review of Asset Manuals including maintenance plans, DSOPs and training materials.
  • Support the planning, scheduling and execution of engineering recovery and improvement plans e.g., equipment.
  • Identify upgrades, overhauls, and major repairs
  • Conduct scheduled asset condition validation and performance verification.
  • Support the Engineering development and delivery to all maintenance staff
  • Systemise and support the implementation of new maintenance processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Develop a knowledge of asset management tools and techniques, e.g., Maintenance Best Practice, plant criticality, FMEA and criticality assessment.
  • To support the engineering function in moving to World Class standard in line with AMIS audits and benchmarking.
  • Support the delivery of maintenance KPIs erg Reliability, Maintainability, asset cost targets etc.
  • Facilitate plant criticality, FMEA, MTBF and RCA working groups.
  • Flexibility of working hours required.
  • Input continuous improvement activities using appropriate Supply Chain Excellence tools and techniques.
  • Review plant performance in reliability, maintainability, and availability through the effective monitoring of downtime, PPM conformance, engineering plans, use of SAP PM and elements of the engineering budget.
  • Raise notifications, work orders and purchase requisitions on SAP.
  • Issue permits and supervise contractors as and when required.
  • Undertake all training required for the role – this will be provided.
  • Manage processes to deliver critically important metric measures.

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience or qualifications in multiple engineering disciplines
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • SAP knowledge
  • Good Microsoft office skills
  • Flexibility to facilitate training
  • Full understanding of safe working practices and relevant legislation
  • Ability to work collaboratively and in a cross-functional environment
  • Effective communication skills, written and oral
  • Advanced problem solving and fault-finding skills

Desirable

  • Experience of leading/managing teams

What will the interview process be?

  • 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
  • 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.

pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process. Some processes may differ, but we will keep you updated!
