Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Trust and Safety, regulatory, policy, data analytics, cybersecurity, or related fields.
  • Experience in program management, strategy, or management consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD.
  • Familiarity with tech or platform policy, regulatory environment, and compliance.
  • Ability to proactively devise and deliver long-term or strategic projects that align with team objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, align and influence across multiple functions to create mutually workable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear and concise narratives and present them to a range of stakeholders.

About the Job

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you’re a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed – with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will help Trust and Safety teams navigate the regulatory environment by developing a clear picture of the regulatory issues and driving the work needed to meet our regulatory obligations. You will work cross-functionally with teams across Google to clarify priorities and risks, improve decision-making velocity, and influence the development, design, and implementation of regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with teams and ensure full visibility and actioning of regulations impacting Trust and Safety (T&S), and deliver updates to the Trust and Safety teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally to manage specific regulations or obligations.
  • Manage governance forums across Trust and Safety to share information and drive effective decision-making on upcoming regulations.
  • Partner with the Legal and Policy teams to ensure that Trust and Safety equities are represented in external conversations to shape future regulations.
  • Collaborate and drive alignment with a broad range of partners across global affairs and product areas.
