ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to: Community Leader/Director, L’Arche Edinburgh

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (normally Monday-Friday, including mornings and evenings, with some weekend work for which time off in lieu is given)

Salary: £38,553.52 – £41,645.44 per annum

Place of work: L’Arche Edinburgh

Contract type: Permanent, full-time

Main purpose of the role

As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a high-quality, person-centred care and support service for adults with learning disabilities, and you will be responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality support through being a visible presence throughout the Community. 

You will lead a supportive team of 3 Support and Care Leaders and their Deputes, working across four locations, and will support the Community Leader in enabling community. You will ensure our support and care is not only consistent with Care Inspectorate and SSSC requirements but also with the values of L’Arche. A strong commitment to these values, building community, and the ability to inspire others in this endeavour is essential.

This position does not offer sponsorship and is best suited for a candidate already located in the Edinburgh area.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • SVQ3 health and social care qualification or equivalent, and PDA supervisors award or equivalent
  • SVQ Social Services & Healthcare SCQF Level 9 and SVQ Care Services Leadership & Management SCQF Level 10 qualification or equivalent OR capacity and commitment required to achieve both within SSSC registration timescales.
  • Demonstrable experience of a minimum 2 years of management experience in social care, including supervisory experience in health and social care.
  • Knowledge of current care and support legislation and good practice, including adult protection and capacity issues.
  • Ability to manage the performance and development of others: to be able to assess, give feedback, manage conflict, and make evaluative judgements about the performance of staff and volunteers.
