If so, don’t hesitate and apply now to join our Portuguese Medical Affairs team as a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) for Cardio-metabolism, based in the North of Portugal!
The position
As a Cardio-metabolism MSL, you will build critical relationships with KOLs in Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease. Working in cross-functional collaboration with other internal stakeholders (Medical Managers, Market Access, Marketing, Clinical Operations, Sales…), you will engage in scientific dialogue on the disease areas and demonstrate the benefits of highly innovative products, providing medical information and coordinating educational workshops, round tables, medical forums, etc.
Among your responsibilities you will:
-Attend and facilitate scientific events, symposia, and advisory boards to develop knowledge and create professional relationships.
-Plan and execute the Regional Medical Plan (KOL Engagement, Medical Education, Clinical Activities, Insights Generation) with the target KOLs in alignment with the company strategy.
-Provide quality scientific support, education, and training to internal & external customers.
-Improve Clinical Care Pathways, in Obesity and Diabetes.
-Proactively provide medical support to clinical operations and our portfolio development (identification of sites for clinical trials, assessment of feasibility and patient recruitment through KOL relationships…).
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should hold an academic degree in Health Sciences, such as Pharmacy, Nutrition, or a related field, or be a Medical Doctor with clinical practice experience. A PhD is considered an advantage.
The ideal candidate must have:

-Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry as a field MSL/Medical Advisor or Medical Affairs (min. 2 years in the role) is required.
-Previous experience and understanding of the Portuguese Healthcare system will be highly valuated.
-Experience and/or strong knowledge in the field of Cardio-metabolism (Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular…) is an advantage but not required.
-Fluent Portuguese with high English level.
-Availability to travel in the designated territory (Northern and Central Portugal).

About the Department
You will be part of our Portuguese Medical Affairs team, integrated in our Clinical, Medical and Regulatory (CMR) area. At the centre of the CMR department at Novo Nordisk is bravery and curiosity: from building new healthcare provider partnerships to providing medical education and collecting data to support efficacy and product development, CMR is involved in all parts of our Value Chain and always looking for the next challenge.
Under this role you will report to the CMR Director while working in strong collaboration with other cross-functional teams.
