Can you share MAF’s story with the world?

We’re looking for a Regional Communications Manager to lead MAF International’s Communications Officers in Africa. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the skills of our enthusiastic team and to help tell the stories of the people we serve, in some of the world’s most isolated communities.

Responsibilities

Your work will amplify the transformative efforts of MAF in Africa, bringing help, hope and healing to remote communities. From disaster response to everyday heroics, you’ll be at the heart of the action, connecting our global family through engaging and impactful communication.

  • Lead and Inspire: Guide a dynamic team of Communications Officers, offering training, support, and hands-on leadership.
  • Be the Voice of MAF: Oversee story gathering, crafting compelling narratives that showcase MAF’s incredible work and its impact on communities.
  • Crisis Response Champion: In times of emergency, you’ll act fast, ensuring stories, images, and videos are shared with the global MAF community within 24 hours.
  • Social Media Strategist: Develop and implement a social media plan that amplifies MAF’s presence and engages our audience.
  • Media Liaison: Facilitate press releases, media interviews, and TV crew visits, ensuring impactful and ethical coverage.
  • Content Creator: Capturing powerful stories from across Africa, images, and videos that reflect MAF’s mission and vision.
  • Standards Advocate: Maintain high standards of ethical storytelling, data protection, and resource organisation.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

Qualification in communication related subject, such as journalism.
 

Desirable: 

Completed university education.
