Offer DescriptionThe competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Lawof July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 – 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:– have a postdoctoral or doctoral degree in the discipline of management scienceand quality,– have outstanding scientific achievements, making a significant contribution to the development of the scientific discipline – management and quality sciences,– have significant scientific activity carried out in more than one university, scientific institution, especially foreign,– have significant achievements in the management of scientific research or research and development projects, especially international projects, acquired through external competition,– have enclosed a concept of scientific development for the next two years,– speak at least one modern foreign language,– have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as the primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,– fluency in spoken and written English will be an added advantage,– Proven ability to conduct secondary researchand primary data in the areas of market actor behavior and marketing,– Proven knowledge of advanced quantitative (e.g. SPSS) and qualitative data analysis software (e.g. Atlas.ti) will be an added advantage,– at least five years of experience in teaching or research and teaching positions in higher education will be an added advantage,– experience in positions such as editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief or chair of the program board of a journal indexedin the SCOPUS or Web of Science database,– experience in the training of scientific personnel (serving as a promoter in a doctoral degree procedure resulting in the awarding of a degree, serving as a reviewer of a doctoral dissertation, participating in a postdoctoral committee) will be an additional asset,– documented experience in organizational activities of a higher education institution will be an additional advantage,– documented experience in organizational activities of committees or scientific societies (e.g., PAN, TNOiK) will be an additional asset,– experience in organizing international scientific conferences will be an additional asset,– A documented experience in editing scientific works (monographs, scientific articles) published in Polish and English will be an additional asset,– A documented experience in reviewing scientific works (monographs, scientific articles) published in Polish and English will be an additional asset,– an additional asset will be experience in activities popularizing science among youth and studentsand students,– confirmed cooperation with business practice will be an additional asset,– in the case of foreigners, it is required to demonstrate fluency in Polishin speech and writing.The person hired for the position of University Professor in the Department of Market and Consumption in the Faculty of Economics will be responsible for the performance of tasks related to: the education of students of the University of Economics in Katowice, scientific development and research activities within the discipline of management and quality sciences, including cooperation with scientific institutions and entities of the business environment in the implementation of the objectives of the Department and the University, organizational activities for the benefit of the Department/Division/University and other duties assigned by superiors.Planned date of employment: 01.09.2024.Type of contract: fixed-term employment contractPlanned period of employment: 4 yearsGross basic salary:PLN 9,900 (in words: nine thousand nine hundred zlotys)Required documents:– Application for employment addressed to the Rector of the University, including mailing address and contact information (email address and telephone),– CV,– personal questionnaire,– photocopy/scan of diploma,– other documents confirming the candidate’s qualifications,– statement of relationship to the immediate supervisor,– statement of primary / secondary place of work,– statement regarding legal capacity, no criminal record and exercise of public rights,– statement of consent to the processing of personal data*.Application documents can be submitted:– in person with the annotation on the documents “Announcement No. 05/2024/PU/KRiK/WE”to the Human Resources Development Office at the University of Economics in Katowice,50 1 Maja St., 40-287 Katowice, Rektorat building;
