Offer DescriptionThe competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Lawof July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 – 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:– have at least a doctoral degree obtained in the discipline of economics and finance,– have a proven track record in scientific or professional work, including participation in research and development projects,– have at least one year of experience in teaching,– have enclosed a concept of scientific development for the next two years,– speak at least one modern foreign language,– have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as the primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,– having a degree in a field related to quantitative methods will be an additional advantage,– an additional asset will be activity in the scientific community expressed in particular by speeches at scientific conferences and seminars, including international ones,– preference will be given to candidates who have led or coordinated a team implementing a scientific project financed from external sources,– preference will be given to candidates who have carried out grants in cooperation with other research centers, especially those funded under the National Science Center, Inter-University Research Grants SGH-UEW-UEK-UEP-UEKat,– having high-scoring scientific publications (at least 100 points), indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, will be an added advantage,– knowledge of SPSS, Statistica, Gretl software will be an added advantage,– ability to develop code in R language will be an added advantage,– in the case of foreigners, it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of the Polish language.The person hired for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic and Financial Analysis at the Faculty of Finance will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to: education of students of the University of Economics in Katowice, scientific development and scientific and research activitieswithin the discipline of economics and finance, including cooperation with scientific institutions and entities of the business environment in achieving the objectives of the Department and the University, organizational activities for the benefit of the Department/Division/University and other duties assigned by superiors.Planned date of employment: 01.09.2024.Type of contract: fixed-term employment contractPlanned period of employment: 4 yearsGross basic salary:1. assistant professor with a postdoctoral degree (full-time, primary place of work) – PLN 9,000 (in words: nine thousand zlotys),2. assistant professor with a doctoral degree (full-time, primary place of work) – PLN 8,200 (in words: eight thousand zlotys).PLN 8,200 (in words: eight thousand two hundred zlotys).Required documents:– Application for employment addressed to the Rector of the University, including mailing address and contact information (e-mail address and telephone),
