Offer DescriptionThe competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Law
of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 – 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:
– have at least a doctoral degree obtained in the discipline of economics and finance,
– have a proven track record in scientific or professional work, including participation in research and development projects,
– have at least one year of experience in teaching,
– have attached a concept of scientific development for the next two years,
– speak at least one modern foreign language,
– have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as the primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
– activity in the scientific community, expressed in particular by speeches at scientific conferences and seminars, including international ones, will be an additional asset,
– highly rated scientific achievements, e.g. authorship or co-authorship of an article in a scientific journal included in the list of journals of the Ministry of Education and Science at the level of at least 70 points, participation in the implementation of scientific and research projects, authorship or co-authorship of chapters in textbooks or monographs will be an additional asset,– preference will be given if the above activities and achievements include issues related to
related to corporate finance,
– professional experience in expert, consulting or managerial positions related to corporate finance will be an added advantage,
– experience in teaching corporate finance will be an added advantage,
– knowledge of English language confirmed by a certificate will be preferred,
– knowledge of a second modern foreign language, including specialized vocabulary in economics and business will be an added advantage,
– in the case of foreigners, it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of Polish.The person hired for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Corporate Finance and Economic Insurance at the Faculty of Finance will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to
with: education of students of the University of Economics in Katowice, scientific development and research activities within the discipline of economics and finance, including cooperation with scientific institutions and entities of the business environment in the implementation of the objectives of the Department and the University, organizational activities for the benefit of the Department/Division/University and other duties assigned by superiors.Planned date of employment: 01.09.2024.
Type of contract: fixed-term employment contract
Planned period of employment: 4 yearsGross basic salary:
1. assistant professor with a postdoctoral degree (full-time, primary place of work) – PLN 9,000 (in words: nine thousand zlotys),
2. assistant professor with a doctoral degree (full-time, primary place of work) – PLN 8,200 (in words: eight thousand zlotys).

After preliminary verification of the submitted bids, interviews with selected candidates will be held from 10.06.2024 to 14.06.2024.
Settlement of the competition will take place by: 21.06.2024 r.The University reserves the right not to settle the competition without giving any reason. The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate, and is only a recommendation to the rector. The final decision on employment is made by the rector.
