Offer DescriptionThe competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Lawof July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 – 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:– have at least a doctoral degree obtained in the discipline of economics and finance,– have a proven track record in scientific or professional work, including participation in research and development projects,– have at least one year of experience in teaching,– have attached a concept of scientific development for the next two years,– speak at least one modern foreign language,– have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as the primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,– graduation from a master’s degree program or equivalent with a general academic profile in a field related to finance (knowledge of financial data analysis preferred) will be an additional advantage,– English language proficiency at an advanced level will be an added advantage,to the extent that it is possible to teach and publish research results in this language (knowledge of English confirmed by a diploma supplement or certificate or a relevant statement),– preference will be given to candidates who have included a list of scientific publications including, but not limited to, publications in English,– having practical (professional) experience related towith working with large databases,– advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheet will be an added advantage,– in the case of foreigners, it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of the Polish language.The person hired for the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Banking and Financial Markets at the Faculty of Finance will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to: education of students of the University of Economics in Katowice, scientific development and scientific and research activitieswithin the discipline of economics and finance, including cooperation with scientific institutions and entities of the business environment in achieving the objectives of the Department and the University, organizational activities for the benefit of the Department/Division/University and other duties assigned by superiors.Planned date of employment: 01.09.2024.Type of contract: fixed-term employment contractPlanned period of employment: 4 yearsGross base salary:1. assistant professor with a postdoctoral degree (full-time, primary place of work) – PLN 9,000 (in words: nine thousand zlotys),2. assistant professor with a doctoral degree (full-time, primary place of work) – PLN 8,200 (in words: eight thousand zlotys).PLN 8,200 (in words: eight thousand two hundred zlotys).Required documents:– Application for employment addressed to the Rector of the University, including mailing address and contact information (email address and telephone),
