Summary Who May Apply? US Citizens currently residing within the commuting area of SHAPE, Belgium (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). This position is located at the USAG Benelux, DFMWR, SHAPE Performing Arts Theatre, SHAPE, Belgium. Responsibilities As a Recreation Assistant, performs a variety of technical and administrative work in the operation of the Performing Arts Center. The Recreation Assistant (Performing Arts) will be responsible for providing dance instruction to children, choreographing recital pieces, and serving as lead choreographer for Performing Arts School theatrical productions. Duties are performed under general supervision and may include: Assisting with costuming, make-up, clerical and administrative functions necessary for the operation of the center, to include record keeping, inventory of supplies, and recommending ordering of depleted or other necessary supplies. Performing first level maintenance on all equipment to ensure that it is in operable condition. Identifying inoperable equipment and advising the supervisor of those needing higher level repair. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Three (3) months of prior experience participating in variety shows, bands and plays. Experience to include: Construction of sets and scenery. Working with recitals, theatrical performance, workshops or revues. Operation of light and stage sound systems for the productions. Highly Preferred: Possess at least one (1) year experience with construction of sets and scenery. Possess at least one (1) year experience with lighting and stage sound systems.
