General Insurance offers a broad range of products to customers through a diversified, multichannel distribution network.About the roleWhat you need to know:Under moderate supervision, identifies and pursues opportunities for recovery/subrogation/salvage at multiple Lines of Business and Products to maximize amounts received from third parties who are wholly responsible or share liability for damages paid to claimants by AIG.Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Pro-active approach to identify recovery opportunities.Review assigned claim files to determine if recovery is feasible by investigating and evaluating liability issues according to a Best Practice/Procedural guidelines.Coordinate investigations with expert witnesses to review the adequacy of the investigation conducted by claims personnel.Corresponds with appropriate parties (experts, attorney’s, claims professionals) in accordance with established procedures regarding claim information, notice/demand of payment and related issues.Research, understand and apply state laws that relate to each file. Keeps management advised of legislative, regulatory, and legal developments which may have an impact on recovery results.Prepare activity reports on files over settlement authority.Forecasts potential recoveries and update the recoverable amount as needed.Provides customer service assistance to outside organizations and AIG Claims Operation management.Prepares for and attends mediations or pretrial sessions.Establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with insured’s, claimants, witnesses, lawyers and corporate employees.Develop and maintain good relationships with internal clients.Identify, create, and complete recovery training for various lines of business as requested by your manager and stakeholders.Accurately identify and record all financial impact for cases worked in the case management system.Assisting the Claims & Recovery management as appropriate in ensuring key deliverables and business objectives are met.Awareness of, and adherence to, GDPR regulations and local laws regarding techniques used for information gathering in countries where operating.Completing targeted claims reviews for all lines of business within AIG as assigned. This includes analysis, documentation of results and suggestions for improvement.Directs/implements negotiation strategies and, for large property recoveries, directs attorneys in managing agreed to subrogation plans.Participates in training by providing information as a subject matter expert as requested.Ability to manage a recovery team, including more junior graded staff with control and supervision functionality.Support leadership team and stakeholder on result reportingWhat we’re looking for:Relevant and extensive experience in either first party and third party claims subrogation or claims handling.Fluent in English.College degree preferred.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated insurance recovery experience or strong and relevant experience in general Recovery.Strong analytical decision making and problem solving.Time management skills to manage and prioritize case load with limited supervision.Advanced knowledge of civil justice systems.Ability to organize data and write case investigative reports.Ability to alter workflow to create and pursue leads that would support a recovery case.Ability to work in tight timelines when necessary.Advanced working knowledge in specialty of insurance a plus.PC skills with various database search systemsWe are an Equal Opportunity EmployerIt has been and will continue to be the policy of American International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
