Offer DescriptionThe post-doc researcher will work on the area of international audiovisual/cultural relations, applying qualitative methods and analysis techniques to surveys. The successful candidate will preferably start between January 2025 and February 2025 depending on his/her availability and residency status. The post is available for 3 years.The research projects are in the areas of audiovisual policies, global cultural governance and international cultural relations. Applications are invited for one postdoctoral researcher on 3-year HORIZON projects, focusing on international audiovisual/cultural relations, European audiovisual industry, as well as on environmental transition of the audiovisual industry. The postdoc will work in collaboration with the Principal Investigator, Professor Antonios Vlassis.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES  Apply qualitative methods in social science research.  Apply analysis techniques to surveys  Construct databases and design questionnaires.  Produce academic articles for publication in high-impact journals.  Translate data into clear and consistent written reports.  Collaborate effectively as part of a larger project team.  Complete tasks in a timely manner.  Legal and ethical monitoring of HORIZON Europe projects.  Carry out administrative management.The successful post-holders will benefit from an excellent research environment and additional financial support to attend conferences and external meetings.Where to apply E-mailavlassis@uliege.beRequirementsResearch Field Cultural studies Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Political sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Communication sciences Education Level PhD or equivalentResearch Field Sociology Education Level PhD or equivalentSkills/QualificationsHold a PhD in a relevant field (such as political science, international relations, media studies, cultural studies, or a related discipline within the Social Sciences) by the start date of the post (or pending results).Knowledge of relevant approaches to international audiovisual/media/cultural studies.Experience of qualitative research.Ability to manage, organise and analyse survey material.Knowledge and experience of questionnaire design.Experience of a collaborative research environment.Demonstrable research autonomy through high-quality academic research.Ability to work closely with other researchers.Collaborate effectively as part of a larger project team.Excellent organisation and time-management skills to be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.Contribute to a good working environment.Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues.LANGUAGES:  Fluency in English is required.  Working knowledge of French is desirable.Specific RequirementsUse initiative to solve problems arising in the research context.Organize time effectively, meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and complete research tasks.Have knowledge of and interest in international cultural relations, audiovisual policy/economy, and/or cultural/media governance.
