  • Previous experience (at least 10 years) at management level in real estate development (with a preference from large-scale retail or real estate investor)
  • Previous experience (at least 10 years) in contract negotiations with landowners, landlords and other parties.
  • Previous experience of dealing with public authorities
  • Knowledge in urban planning and permitting process
  • Academic degree in law/urban planning/architecture/engineering
  • Budget management: Knowledge of how to plan, organize and manage costs and expenditures for a business.
  • Business risk management: Knowledge of how to assess and mitigate risks in a business environment.
  • Project management: Knowledge of how to initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project.
  • Change management: Knowledge of how to create and implement change initiatives and manage stakeholders in Ingka.
  • Real estate development: Knowledge of the whole process for land scouting, acquisition, zoning, planning, development and permitting.
  • Sustainable real estate development: Knowledge of how to assess a site (city location, brownfield) meeting sustainability requirement when doing real estate development. Knowledge of how to incorporate sustainability requirements into site selection analysis process
  • Real estate Purchaeses and Leases: Knowledge about how to investigate, negotiate & structure deals, secure permits, and acquire premises for the different needs within Ingka
  • Leading others: Demonstrates general leadership ability and effectiveness.
  • Driving innovation: Stimulates creative ideas and perspectives that add value.
  • Driving performance: Provides guidance and feedback to maximize performance of individuals and/or groups.

What you’ll be doing day to day

  • Lead the work to secure and divest locations according to the real estate scope in Ingka Group, by delivering safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solutions that meet the needs of the business and the many people.
  • Own, control and minimize costs and risks related to the acquisition, divestment, zoning, planning, permitting, value and operation of Ingka Group properties;
  • Manage the procurement and contribution of all necessary external consultants and other stakeholders to enable tasks related to real estate development;
  • Support definition, development and securing implementation of Ingka Groups’ internal strategies and processes related to the assignment;
  • Develop working relations with local authorities and communities, and proactively engage with authorities to gain support for development, planning and permitting of Ingka business such as retailing units, large property developments, logistic developments, shopping centers and mix-use developments;
  • Lead and supervise the approval and execution of all public infrastructure, utilities and other off-site improvements in connection to all new and existing Ingka Group properties;
  • Work with other internal Ingka functions, real estate partners and local authorities to finalize the projects pending legal obligation and ensure the satisfactory hand-over of completed projects along with the relative documentation to other functions after completed acquisitions (title) and permits approval (building permit).
