R&D Software Test Engineer

We are looking for a R&D Software Test Engineer for the global R&D of the Process Automation division, Process Control Platform unit. Our unit designs control systems products and instrumentation for the power, water and process industries, in particular the flagship Symphony Plus automation platform. Our portfolio includes a complete state-of-the-art automation solution for traditional markets such as thermal and water as well as challenging and ever evolving renewable markets such as solar, wind, and hydro.

Your responsibilities

• Review software requirements and prepare test plans and scenarios.
• Create and execute manual test cases as well as automation test scripts to provide the maximum coverage.
• Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies.
• Create logs to document testing phases, providing comprehensive and concise test results.
• Help development teams in troubleshooting issues.
• Work with international cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycles.

Your background

• You will preferably have a Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics or Automation Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Tester or similar role.
• Previous experiences of ABB Symphony Plus products testing is a very strong plus.
• Knowledge of programming languages and test automation frameworks is a strong plus. Aware of Lean development principles, familiar with Agile methodologies and very quality focused person. Ability to document and troubleshoot errors.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken is necessary.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to details.
• Proactivity, flexibility, good communication, interpersonal and team working skills will complete your profile. If you have positive attitude, you are trusty and behave with highly professional this is the perfect role for you.
