The position
As Raw Material Scientist, your primary activity involves working with projects for approval of new supply chains for raw materials.
Your key responsibilities include:
-Having the scientific responsibility for critical materials used in Novo Nordisk productions worldwide
-Ensuring the right control strategy for the materials by assessing the manufacture and handling of the material that could affect its use in Novo Nordisk
-Evaluating actively critical cases from a scientific viewpoint
-Handling urgent issues with the materials with high impact for the use of the material
-Representing your team in technical and scientific discussions in projects across the organisation
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we imagine you:
-Hold a minimum of a master’s degree in science (e.g., chemistry, pharmacy, engineering), or another relevant field within the natural sciences
-Demonstrate experience in handling and controlling raw materials in a GMP environment
-Showcase strong technical and analytical skills and can use those actively
-Excel in working with complex cases, possessing good stakeholder management skills
-Display proficiency in both spoken and written English
It would be considered as a strong advantage if you have experience in working with projects.

About the department
You will join the RAW department in Material Manufacturing Development (Material ManDev), Sourcing Operations in Product Supply currently located in Bagsværd, but we will move to Taastrup in January 2026.
RAW is one of 3 newly established departments; RAW, Analytical Development, and Primary Packaging. The departments are created due to a split of Material ManDev and are gathered in a shared VP area of ‘Material ManDev’.
In the department, we are responsible for development, implementation, and management of complex materials (raw materials, excipients etc.) and cooperate across areas such as CMC, QC laboratories, QA, inbound supply, warehouse, various Novo Nordisk production sites and a range of external suppliers.
