JOB DESCRIPTION:

-Reports to Director – Safety & HSE Risk Management.
-Assists in the development and implementation of the Company’s Radiation Safety Program, with input, assistance and support of the Corporate Radiation Safety Committee (CRSC) and appropriate product service line management.
-Ensures that radiation safety activities are being performed according to approved policies and procedures and applicable requirements, while providing adequate protection of public health and safety.
-Interfaces with Manufacturing & Technology, Procurement & Materials, Export Controls and operations personnel at all organizational levels, acting as an advisor and to a lesser extent as an auditor and instructor.
-The position interfaces with the CRSC on incident review and response, reviewing recommendations to maintain individual and collective radiation doses, ALARA, and developing agendas for, and conducting quarterly review meetings.
-Must maintain good working knowledge of existing applicable regulations and license requirements, as well as proposed changes in regulations and requirements.
-Should have a good understanding of Company operations.
-Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: conducting training and annual retraining as required by licenses(s), overseeing a personnel monitoring program, ensuring that required radiation surveys and tests are being conducted, maintaining radioactive materials inventory records, ensuring that licensed materials are securely stored or transported and coordinating disposal of waste radioactive material.
-The position may also be responsible for overseeing an internal radiation safety audit program and other tasks as designated in the applicable regulations and company license(s) along with some general administrative duties.
-May provide technical leadership and direction to other less experienced personnel.
-Position works under general supervision.
-Required activities may include: report writing, providing technical advice to operations and shared services personnel, researching and interpreting standards and codes and assisting in the development and implementation of plans or policies.
-Position requires computer skills, good written and oral communication skills.
-Requires college degree in related field, some advance specialized technical training and three to six (3-6) years technical and practical experience.
