Offer DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow to join the Lipotoxicity and liver disease group under the direction of Prof. Antonio Vidal-Puig in collaboration with Dr. Stefania Carobbio at the Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe. This role, funded by the Caixa Fundación, will contribute to our research that focuses on refining the identification of early regulated intrahepatic factors that influence the transition from Metabolic metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASLD) to Metabolic Disfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) and evaluate their potential as therapeutic targets and diagnostic/prognostic biomarkers.The different objectives of the project include both in vivo and in vitro work in the form of a) Longitudinal exposome-related studies in mice (several lipid diets, environmental temperature and GLP1) to define the natural trajectories and potential reversal mechanisms MASLD to MASH b) Validation in vitro: to examine the regulation of molecular networks under genetic and environmental stresses using hepatic cellular models c) In Vivo Validation: to confirm the clinical relevance of identified genes and pathways in the progression of MASLD to MASH through murine and human in vivo studies.The successful candidate will:Contribute to our research by elucidating the mechanisms driving the progression from MASLD to MASH. We want to uncover novel pathogenic genes and pathways that could provide new personalised treatment strategies and biomarkers to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and resolution of MASLD/MASH.

Key responsabilities:

• Lead one or more research projects, managing all aspects from experimental design to data generation, analysis, interpretation, and publication.
• To conduct in vitro work and in vivo phenotypic characterisation of murine models and perform lab-based molecular research.
• To present research findings internally and at national and international conferences, aiming for publication in high-impact journals.
