Artist residencies and exhibitions keep our public art works fresh, inspiring everyone who visits or uses our spaces.About the roleWe are recruiting for a Public Art Producer who will work closely with the Director of Public Art to deliver the UCL wide public art programming, including projects such as the UCL200 Public Art Programme, the ongoing programming activities at the UCL East Campus and development of specific commissions programmes such as the Institute of Neuroscience/Dementia Research Centre Art Programme.The successful candidate will implement the public art delivery process, from creative programme development in partnership with UCL Cultural and Community Engagement teams, Exhibitions and Museum teams at Bloomsbury Campus, academics, students and other internal and external partners. The Public Art Producer will be responsible for curation of aspects of the programmes, artist selection, concept and detailed design development, fabrication, installation and subsequent artwork maintenance and conservation.This role will predominantly be based on site at UCL’s Bloomsbury and UCL East Campuses. Some remote working will be possible, but it is expected that you will spend 80% of working time working from campus.About youThe successful candidate will have experience in visual arts, arts administration, or curation, experience working with artists, fabricators, and installers, a solid understanding of art fabrication processes, and a working knowledge of curatorial practices, particularly in public art.
You will bring a strong foundation in project management principles, enabling you to plan, execute, and monitor projects efficiently. You are a collaborative team player, who excels in managing varied workloads, setting priorities, and leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared goals. Known for your clear communication and interpersonal skills, you work well with diverse stakeholders, explaining complex information effectively.
