The Dutch Banking Association (DBA) is looking for an intern in its Brussels office.

The Dutch Banking Association (NVB) works proactively with the banking sector, politicians and stakeholders to create a service-oriented, stable and competitive banking sector. Our mission is to represent the interests of our members and the sector by providing a meeting place, providing relevant information, lobbying and communication. We organize dialogue, want to inspire our members and strive for visible results. Almost all banks active in the Netherlands are members of the NVB. The head office of the NVB is located in Amsterdam.

The NVB office in Brussels follows European and international politics and legislation on a large number of topics that are important to banks. This is a broad agenda that ranges from financial regulations to taxation, trade, digitalisation, sustainability and privacy rules. During the internship you will, among other things, monitor these developments, attend and cover events and debates, help organize an event in Brussels, and provide support in discussions with stakeholders.

 

Job Requirements include:

  • Participate in discussions with members (the banks) and stakeholders
  • Organizing meetings and events
  • Participate in various dossiers related to European regulations
  • Keeping the NVB member portal up to date with relevant developments

 

What are we looking for?

  • You are in the master’s phase of your university studies or have recently completed it
  • Good command of English, other European languages, especially Dutch, are an advantage;
  • Good knowledge of the legal and regulatory procedures in the EU;
  • Interested in politics and affinity with the financial sector;
  • Excellent research and organizational skills;
  • Independent and flexible;
  • Communicative and culturally sensitive;
  • You are available as of September for 5 months to perform work from Brussels.
