Job Advertisement: Psychology Graduate Teaching AssistantTeaching Personnel is seeking a passionate and motivated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role begins in January and continues until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance.About the Role:
As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students and staff to provide targeted support across the school. This role is ideal for a psychology graduate interested in pursuing a career in education, child psychology, or mental health. You will gain valuable hands-on experience working in a school setting while making a meaningful difference to students’ learning and well-being.Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students, particularly those with additional needs such as social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
• Assist teachers in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, tailoring approaches to meet individual student needs.
• Offer pastoral support, helping students develop resilience, confidence, and effective learning strategies.
• Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback to teaching staff to inform lesson planning and interventions.
• Work with students who may present behavioral challenges, using your psychology background to help them engage positively with their education.
• Support the implementation of intervention programs to promote mental health and well-being across the school.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible support.

This role provides an excellent foundation for graduates aiming to specialize in educational or clinical psychology, as well as those considering a teaching career.What We’re Looking For:

• Hold a degree in Psychology or a related subject.
• Have a strong interest in education and supporting young people’s development.
• Be empathetic, patient, and adaptable, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Be proactive, organized, and reliable, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Have a desire to gain practical experience in an educational setting.

Previous experience working with young people or in a support capacity is advantageous but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.What We Offer:
