Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – DentonTeaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated “Good” secondary school in Denton. This full-time position starts in October and continues until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent based on performance. The pay for this role is £419.25 to £500 per week.Role Overview:As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students and teachers across the school, particularly within the Social Sciences and SEN departments. This position is ideal for psychology graduates who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in education, especially those considering a future career in teaching or educational psychology. Your responsibilities will include:Supporting Students: Work closely with students who may need additional help, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your understanding of psychological principles will help you to support their learning and emotional development.Assisting in the Classroom: Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons, helping to prepare materials, and offering one-on-one or small group assistance to students who require extra support.Behaviour Management: Use your knowledge of psychology to help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment, contributing to the overall wellbeing of the students.Student Progress: Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and helping to develop strategies to support student learning.Pastoral Care: Provide pastoral support to students, helping to address any emotional or social issues that may be impacting their education.Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of psychological theories and their application in an educational setting.
  • An interest in working with young people, particularly those with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting student learning and wellbeing.
