Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a part or fully qualified accountant and / or a regulatory professional with capital experience gained within the industry (asset manager or bank).

We want individuals who take responsibility for their own outputs, ensuring they are accurate and of high quality, and who can work independently, using their own initiative. You need to have strong written and oral communication skills and to be a good team player.

The team leads on production of the capital and risk assessment documents that are produced for the Schroders Group (such as the ICAAP (Internal Capital Adequacy and Assessment Process)) and for UK operating entities (ICARAs (Internal Capital and Risk Assessments)). The jobholder will assist in delivery of these documents.

The base

The team

The Group Regulatory Reporting team is responsible for the production of all prudential regulatory material for the consolidated Schroders Group (CRR) and several solo UK regulated asset management firms (IFPR / CPM) and for production of associated internal reports.

The Pillar 2 team is overall owner of almost all of the Group Pillar 2 documents, including the ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Wind-down plan, and ICARAs under the FCA IFPR regime.

The Group Regulatory team is also responsible for production and submission of Pillar 1 prudential regulatory returns and Pillar 3 documents.

What you’ll do

The jobholder will:

  • Play a key role in the team’s project management, delivery, and analysis of the Group’s ICAAP, Recovery Plan, Wind-Down Plan, and entity ICARAs. Responsibilities include managing project timetables, sourcing and analysing data from subject matter experts across Finance, Group Risk, and the wider business. The individual will engage with and build strong relationships across the organisation.
  • Contribute to setting assumptions for stress testing scenarios and Pillar 2 credit and concentration risk assessments. Involved in assessing the Group’s other Pillar 2 capital requirements, with opportunities to develop a broad understanding of Basel Pillar 2 methodologies.
  • Produce quarterly early warning indicators for Group and UK-regulated entities.
  • Prepare clear, concise management information for the Prudential Risk Steering Group and Group Capital Committee.
  • Take on the lead responsibility for organising, collating papers, and taking minutes for the Prudential Risk Steering Committee.
  • Assist in producing capital stress forecasts and conducting stress testing.
  • Play a key role in the future development of the Pillar 2 documentation process and approaches.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulatory changes and assist in interpreting their implications for Schroders.
  • Support the team with ad hoc initiatives as required.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Part or fully Qualified accountant and / or a regulatory professional with at least 1 – 2 years industry experience
  • Finance or regulatory experience gained within industry is preferable (asset manager or bank)
