Job Summary

GKN Aerospace is the world’s leading multi-technology tier 1 aerospace supplier. Our technologies are used in aircraft ranging from the most used single aisle aircraft and the largest passenger planes in the world to business jets and the world’s advanced 5th generation fighter aircraft. GKN’s new Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Filton, Bristol is a £32m state of the art technology research and development facility which will act as a hub for world-class innovative technology for the next generation of fuel-efficient aircraft. We are looking for a Senior Engineer with a background in power electronics and motor control to develop electrical drive hardware which will help shape the future of flight. You will be involved in the full development cycle of high-power, high-performance electrical drives for future aircraft propulsion. You will have the opportunity to contribute from requirements and specification, through to development and test definition, helping to prove and evolve novel technologies in a demanding, ground-breaking application.

The successful PSO will join our dynamic Horizon3 (H3) Technology Team and play a vital role in supporting our leadership by overseeing financial and operational reporting for the CTO/H3 Tech portfolio, managing a budget of approximately £20 million annually. In addition to coordinating and collating essential reports, you’ll provide crucial support services to the Leadership team, including managing contracts (NDAs and Research agreements) and facilitating procurement processes (issuing Purchase Orders and approving new suppliers).

How You’ll Contribute

  • Establishing & maintain the budget reporting structures in the Project Management tool (Clarizen).

  • Coordinate baseline budgets and deliverables across five global reporting units in the UK, Netherlands and Sweden, and associated change management / tracking of budget/deliverables changes

  • Report both status and forecasts of the H3 portfolio to Senior Leadership, including KPI’s for finance, resource, IP and deliverables from global reporting units

  • Accountable for specific ‘H3 Core Management’ and ‘H3 Seed’ budgets

  • Continuously improve reporting tools and methods in line with the Project management Function

  • Facilitate Risk and Opportunity management activities at H3 Portfolio level

  • Co-ordinate purchase order request and tracking activities (for non-Project ‘H3 Core’ and ‘H3 Seed’ budgets) and support the registration of new suppliers

  • Drive the coordination of NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and Collaboration agreements.

Essential:

  • Proven working experience in supporting projects in an industrial or technology environment

  • Experience in reporting project status and recommendations to leadership

  • Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders

  • Eperience with project management software tools (incl. MS Projects), methodologies

  • Experience in data analysis

    Desirable:

  • Project Management Professional certification like IPMA level D /PMP CAPM/ APM FPQ / /Other certification
