About Us

The North York Moors National Park Authority looks after and promotes one of the most
phenomenal parts of the British Isles. Filled with breath-taking scenery, magnificent wildlife,
picture book villages and a dramatic coastline, the North York Moors boasts some of the most
diverse landscapes in the UK.

Linking Levisham is an ambitious, multi-partner Landscape Recovery Project at the heart of the
North York Moors National Park. It will showcase landscape recovery in the spectacular, working
North York Moors landscape, balancing nature recovery, farming and archaeological and
geological interests for diverse audiences to experience.

We are now seeking a Project Officer to join our team on a full-time basis, working 37 hours
per week.

The Role

As a Project Officer, you will deliver key ecology and land management components of our
Linking Levisham Project.

Co-ordinating the collection and analysis of ecological and land management data, you will
create a detailed baseline of the project area.

You will also work with the Engagement Project Officer on specialist farmer and land manager
engagement and develop a Citizen Science Programme.

Additionally, you will:

  • Commission and co-ordinate feasibility studies
  • Lead the development of the project’s adaptive land management plans
  • Co-ordinate the development of the project’s adaptive monitoring and evaluation plan

About You

To be considered as a Project Officer, you will need:

  • Experience of ecology and/or environmental land management
  • Experience of delivery and contract supervision of ecological and/or environmental fieldwork
    and operations
  • Knowledge of the statutory basis for environmental management
  • A full, valid driving licence
