Are you ready for duty?THE ROLEAs the Project Manager Naval Training Facility, you will be responsible for the execution of a part of the new to-be-built land-based Navy training facilities in Germany. You are responsible for the execution of all engineering, manufacturing and supply chain activities which need to be finalized within the project scope, quality standards, budget, and timelines. The Navy training facilities will serve for training naval staff through ship simulation stations and about ship’s equipment, and maintenance. Since these facilites are located in Germany, you are expected to be available to travel to the German locations about once per month for a number of consecutive days.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESAs the Project Manager Naval Training Facility, you will be:Responsible for the execution of a medium size project within agreed schedules, quality standards and cost constraints.Managing the project planning including the resource planning.Responsible for the project’s people management.Develop and execute a project plan, monitoring progress against set targets and taking proactive actions to meet the targets.Liaising with external stakeholders such as the customer representatives, co-makers, and suppliers.Responsible for trials. testing. and commissioning of naval training facilities located in Germany.Ensuring full compliance to all applicable requirements and specifications.Responsible for the proper follow-up on warranty claims during the warranty period.Representing the company to customers and related professional associations and is responsible for a good working relation with the customer.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEAs the Project Manager Naval Training Facility, you need to have:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline supplemented with an IPMA C or comparable certification.Extensive project management experience acquired in complex international (shipbuilding) projects with multi-site manufacturing environments preferable in the defense or security industry.Knowledge of and experience with management principles and techniques.Experience in building coalitions, internally and with other (inter)national Damen entities and/or external suppliers to achieve common goals.Good command of English (written and verbal) and preferably German language, or willingness to learn.Ability to frequently travel and work in the North of Germany and Vlissingen the Netherlands.Competences: customer orientation, teamwork, results orientation, coaching, planning, and organizing, behavioural flexibility quality orientation leadership adaptability and stress tolerance.Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.WHAT WE OFFERAt Damen Naval, we highly value our employees, and we will support your professional and personal development.
