About the opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our client-facing team within our Non-Nuclear Engineering Partner Framework (NNEP).
The project itself involves delivering the design phase of a large-scale, multiphase explosives facility.
The successful candidate must have experience working on projects of a similar scale, complexity and value. The project environment is highly dynamic, and on this basis the candidate must be equally responsive in attending to emergent project needs and proactive in identifying, monitoring and supporting areas that require their attention, be they technical or administrative in nature.
Given the diverse range of stakeholders involved, the successful candidate must have the ability to network autonomously. Through their close relationships with the Engineering Management, they will be responsible for maintaining project cadence, driving plan ownership, and ensuring delivery excellence in all deliverables produced. Through their management of the Project Control Functions, they will be responsible for project finances, schedule and risk profile.
As this is a client-facing position, managing expectations and ensuring satisfaction will be a large part of the role, and so professional integrity and strong interpersonal skills are vital.
The candidate should preferably be familiar with project development stages from Concept through to Construction as detailed in the RIBA Plan of Work and its associated supporting overlays (BISRA, DFM, Green, etc.).
Experience managing projects or programmes of a similar scale, complexity and value, including the management of large, multidisciplinary Engineering Teams and Client stakeholders such as Account Managers, Technical Authorities, and Subject Matter Experts.
Ability to act with autonomy, maintain perspective in a dynamic environment, prioritise personal workloads, and ensure due diligence is observed.
Ability to drive project cadence, manage a diverse range of technical project teams, and ensure Client satisfaction is guaranteed
Ability to maintain professional integrity, build relationship, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
Awareness of standard project management methodologies (waterfall, agile, lean, etc.).
Awareness of typical design and delivery methodologies (RIBA, PEM, etc.) [preferable]
A professional project management qualification (PRINCE II, APM, etc.)
A degree in either an appropriate engineering or management subject.
Any offer of employment will be strictly subject to the relevant security requirements for the role being met. This means that you will need to have, or be able to obtain, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance and either Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance. The security clearance process may require non-British nationals or dual nationals (i.e. those with British and another nationality) to be subject to additional evaluation, depending on nationalities held and the nature of the work to be carried out.
