Project Manager

Aon is hiring a Project Manager to join our Global Benefits Solution team. This role is responsible for the successful delivery of implementing our products with FTSE 100 clients. This is a client facing role which will also leverage our Aon Global Broking team.

The Project Manager will also support with improving operational efficiency and implementing continuous improvement activities to ensure projects meet and exceed Aon’s and our client’s standards of service.

This role is open to anyone based with the UK, Ireland or Central European Time zone and will mostly offer remote working with some international travel.

What the day will look like

You will be responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle ensuring strong project governance throughout. To ensure this happens the Project Manager must be familiar with system and project scope, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.

  • Manage changes to project scope and project scheduling using appropriate verification techniques in order to keep the project plan accurate, reflective of authorised project changes

  • Ensures there is a common understanding through settling and communicating expectations in accordance with the project plan and project documentation, to all key stakeholders and team members

  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor, identify and quantify variances, perform and manage corrective actions and ensure this is communicated accordingly

  • Responsible for project milestones and checkpoint criteria in accordance with Aon governance criteria

  • Responsible for managing varying project complexities including new clients

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to increase project and process efficiency

  • Collaborate with teams across Aon

  • Builds build collaboration and cooperation between team members

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 3 years’ experience in a project manager role

  • Prince or PMP qualification – or a desire to pursue with the support from Aon

  • Demonstrable project management skills with experience of different types of project methodologies e.g. waterfall, agile etc, and tools e.g. MS project

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time covering differing size and complexity to meet business requirements and deliver results

  • Self-motivated individual with good organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Good communication skills in an increasingly virtual working world

  • Ability to manage conflict situations with tact, diplomacy and strength of character

  • Ability to establish build relationship with all team members at of Aon and confident to liaise at all levels whether internally at Aon or externally

  • Strong influencing and consulting skills

  • Ability to tackle and navigate challenges to ensure project deliverables are met

  • Good planning skills with demonstrable experience of project planning, initiation and execution

  • Able to work independently at a fast pace

  • Results driven at a project level and able to take accountability for results with the ability to work well under pressure to provide deliverables results on time and to a high standard

  • Good analytical capabilities and attention to detail at a project level
