The University of Buckingham is among the fifteen smallest in the UK and is rightly proud of its distinctive features, namely: it is the only private University in the UK with a Royal Charter; secondly, it pioneered the first accelerated (two-year) degree; and finally, it provides students with a personalised learning experience through its small-group academic tutorial system and exceptional pastoral care provision.This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Project Manager.Job PurposeResponsible for the provision of project management of capital development and building and property refurbishment projects for the University.The role involves managing and delivering a variety of complex repair and refurbishment projects from inception to handover both from reactive maintenance requests, a planned programme of replacements and building fabric improvement from the University’s Capital Improvements Programme managed by the Estates Directorate.This position will focus on delivering Projects that sit within the Minor and Intermediate Programme (circa under £2 million) and requires close collaboration campus wide, delivering the Estates Strategy within a multi stakeholder environment.The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, able to work both independently and collaboratively.Please refer to the Job Profile for more details about the key responsibilities of this role.Skills & ExperienceIdeally a degree/HNC/HND or equivalent in building construction and/or surveying.Project Management qualification or equivalent proven track record of managing complex projects to successful completion.We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box, but we are invested in our people and their development, so we encourage you to apply if you believe you have the majority of the skills and experience required and are keen to develop!
